On September 24th, 1759, Arthur Guinness signed the lease on St Jame's Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland. The drink he created would become one of the world's most iconic brands. 250 years later in 2009, Guinness staged the largest, most ambitious international musical event since Live Aid to mark this anniversary, hosting simultaneous performances in Dublin, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, New York City and Yaoundé.

The televised event was broadcast to over 30 million people, globally on Sky, ITV2, DirecTV and terrestrial televison accross the Pan-Africa region. Over 50 international artists performed live and helped to raise over 6 million Euros for community projects worldwide.
